It’s go time for Ohio State football — almost.
With the college football season inching closer, major media sites are starting to release conference previous, and the Big Ten, one of the most high-profile conferences, is up.
ESPN’s Jake Trotter and Adam Rittenberg broke down must-watch games along with top transfers, impact freshmen, numbers to know and much more. One such section was on teams on the hot seat.
Rittenberg didn’t put anyone on the hot seat, but Trotter placed Ohio State.
“Howard declared during the Manning Passing Academy recently that this season is ‘natty or bust’ for the Buckeyes,” Trotter wrote. “Anything short of a win over Michigan, a Big Ten title and the school’s first national championship in a decade would feel like a disappointment. That might seem unreasonable. But those will be the expectations Ohio State faces. Defensive end Jack Sawyer admitted as much during Big Ten media days: ‘We know what’s at stake.'”

The Buckeyes have clearly been vocal of their expectations for this season, and with both Oregon and Michigan on the schedule, they’ll be able to prove they belong in the College Football Playoff throughout the regular season.
Ohio State added Kansas State transfer Will Howard, who will likely be named the starting quarterback. Couple that with the top recruiting prospec in wide receiver, Jeremiah Smith, to try to replace some of the production lost by Marvin Harrison Jr.’s decision to go to the NFL, and the Buckeyes should be set to have both one of the best offenses and defenses in the nation.
