Cris Carter on Jeremiah Smith: ‘I pray he smashes all my records’ as Ohio State freshman

Former Ohio State football and Pro Football Hall of Fame wide receiver Cris Carter is seemingly accepting that one of his Buckeye football records could be up for grabs.

In 1984, Carter caught eight touchdown receptions, more than any other freshman in Ohio State history. Freshman wide receiver Jeremiah Smith has three touchdown catches for the Buckeyes in his first two games, making him tied with Marvin Harrison Jr. for fifth-most by an Ohio State freshman in program history.

Not only is Carter accepting that his record could be broken. It’s something he’s praying for.

After 40 years of holding the record, I pray he smashes all my records: just I lil reminder, my Buckeyes ran the football 45-50 times a game . https://t.co/ywrQntcXO9
