Rutgers football will return from a bye week and hit the road for its first away game of the season when it plays Virginia Tech at Lane Stadium in Blacksburg, Virginia on Sept. 21.
Before their bye week, the Scarlet Knights beat Howard, 44-7, and Akron, 49-17.
Virginia Tech is coming off a 37-17 win over Old Dominion.
The Scarlet Knights beat the Hokies 35-16 last season at SHI Stadium in Piscataway.
