MADISON – In Big Ten country, football season unofficially kicks off Tuesday.
Big Ten media days are set for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. This is the first year the event covers three days and it will mark the first appearance for new league members Oregon, USC, UCLA and Washington.
Here is what you need to know.
Will Big Ten media days be televised?
All three days of the event will be shown on the Big Ten Network. The network will have morning coverage of coaches news conferences from 10 a.m. to noon (Central) Tuesday and Wednesday and from 10:30 a.m. to noon on Thursday. BTN will follow up coverage each day with on-set interviews and analysis from noon to 4 p.m.
What is the schedule for Big Ten football media days?
Tuesday: Coaches and players from Illinois, Northwestern, Ohio State, Purdue, Rutgers and Wisconsin will appear. Big Ten commissioner Tony Petitti will have remarks and answer questions at 10 a.m. Coaches news conferences begin at 10:30.
Wednesday: Coaches and players from Iowa, Michigan State, Nebraska, Penn State, UCLA and USC will appear. Lieutenant General Richard M. Clark, the College Football Playoff executive director, will answer questions at 10 a.m.
Thursday: Coaches and players from Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Oregon and Washington will appear.
Who is representing the Wisconsin Badgers at Big Ten media days?
Badgers coach Luke Fickell will be on hand. He is scheduled to speak at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Safety Hunter Wohler, linebacker Jake Chaney and tackle Jack Nelson are scheduled to be in attendance and participate in interviews from 1:15 to 1:45 p.m. (although not scheduled to be on TV live).
