College Recruiting Tracker: Where are Florida’s top high school football players committed

It’s commitment season.

It’s summer, which means high school football players will be crisscrossing the country taking official visits and working out on college campuses hoping to get their dream offer.

The USA Today Florida Network is tracking the top high school football commitments across the state.

Several of the top seniors in the state have yet to announce their college choice, including Zephyrhills defensive back DJ Pickett (No. 1 USA Today Florida Network top 100).

Other notable names who still are undecided are Seminole Ridge linebacker Ty Jackson (No. 5), Mandarin wide receiver Jaime Ffrench (No. 6) and IMG linebacker Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng (No. 10).

Miami lands Chaminade-Madonna 4-star CB Chris Ewald

Miami’s momentum on the recruiting trail continued Thursday.

The Hurricanes picked up a commitment from Chaminade-Madonna four-star cornerback Chris Ewald.

The 6-foot, 160-pound Ewald is the No. 13 player and No. 2 cornerback on the USA Today Florida Network top 100. In addition to visiting Miami earlier this month, Ewald also took an official visit to Georgia this past weekend.

Ewald recorded 45 tackles, intercepted two passes and had 20 pass breakups in 2023.

He is the 13th Miami commit and is the second four-star recruit to pick the Hurricanes this week, joining Seminole interior offensive lineman Max Buchanan.
