It was impossible to avoid noticing, right after USC beat LSU on Sunday night, how emotional Miller Moss was in his postgame interview with ESPN/ABC’s Holly Rowe. USC players and coaches felt one kind of emotion after shutting up their doubters and all the people who were shoveling dirt on the Trojan program. Meanwhile, LSU coaches and players were dealing with a very different set of emotions, most centrally head coach Brian Kelly, who was absolutely furious with himself and his team after letting this game slip away. Kelly, in his postgame press conference, banged the table and yelled in frustration after his team — seemingly in control with a 17-13 lead and the ball in great field position midway through the fourth quarter — could not finish off the Trojans.

LSU Wire had this to say about the game:

“This time, it was USC’s turn to deliver the season-opening blow to LSU. Lincoln Riley’s offense marched down the field in the final minute to break a 20-20 tie with a Woody Marks touchdown. LSU got the ball back with eight seconds left, but a Garrett Nussmeier interception sealed a 27-20 win for USC.

“LSU had several chances to take control of this game in the second half, but USC stuck around and eventually made the plays in the fourth quarter. The Tigers lacked the signature explosive plays that made the 2023 offense the best unit in the country and Jayden Daniels’ legs were sorely missed.”

Lots more USC analysis is coming your way today and this week, but let’s spend a little time looking at this loss from an LSU perspective, while also sharing you the startling video of Kelly being consumed with frustration after yet…
