Browns plan to start Jameis Winston at QB in place of injured Deshaun Watson in Week 8 vs. Ravens, per report

The Cleveland Browns are reportedly turning to a former No. 1 overall pick to help turn their season around. The Browns are planning to start Jameis Winston at quarterback for Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens, according to Bleacher Report. 

Winston is slated to fill in for Deshaun Watson, who will miss the remainder of the season after he injured his Achilles during last week’s loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. 

Winston, a 10-year veteran who is in his first season with the Browns, entered Sunday’s game after both Watson and fellow backup Dorian Thompson-Robinson sustained injuries. He threw a late touchdown pass to tight end David Njoku in Cleveland’s eventual 21-14 loss.
