Tulane improved to 4-2 on Saturday with a blowout 71-20 win over UAB on the road. While the game was well decided going into the fourth quarter, the game still produced some late action. Each team scored a pair of touchdowns, ending the AAC clash in a scorigami. A scorigami is when a game ends with a final score that’s never happened before.
UAB running back Solomon Beebe scored on a 6-yard touchdown run with 1:22 left in regulation, and Tulane ran out the clock on the ensuing possession to produce the sixth unique score of this college football season so far.
Tulane led 20-6 at the end of the first quarter and scored 37 unanswered points to pull away. Tulane finished with a season-high 317 yards on 50 rushing attempts and scored six touchdowns on the ground. Running back Makhi Hughes rushed for a team-high 119 yards and two touchdowns.
The most recent scorigami was Washington State’s 54-52 win in double overtime over San Jose State. James Madison defeated North Carolina 70-50 during the same week to produce another scorigami.
Arizona’s 61-39 win over New Mexico in Week 1 was the first scorigami of the season.
