VINCENT GOODWILL: Jayson Tatum did his book of Kobe fadeaway on Darius Garland. You tell me why you’re doing a fadeaway on Darius Garland. Why the hell– you 6’10” and Darius Garland is maybe 6’2″. Why you are doing a fadeaway as opposed to going to the basket? It just seems like when the game clock is down to 10, he goes into Mamba mentality. And that ain’t always good.

And I don’t know if that’s something you have to fix in Jayson Tatum. The fadeaway with the leg kick, at first, I was like, oh, that’s a really poor call. And then the refs actually went back and reversed it, which I thought was actually pretty damn good. Zach Zarba, one of the best officials in the league, if not the best lead official in the league, he rightly determined that Jayson Tatum’s leg caused the contact with Darius Garland.

And Tatum was saying after the game, I should have went earlier. Because if it’s a tie game, you bring it down 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, like you’re on the playground. But when you’re down 1, you try to give yourself as many opportunities as you can. It’s not the end of the world.

Jaylen Brown, he was not happy. And it wasn’t he wasn’t happy with Jayson Tatum. He wasn’t happy with the way the Celtics played in the last eight or nine minutes of the game, as he should not have been. He’s a serious chap. Jaylen Brown is not one much for the smiling. He’s serious, OK? He was like, these games matter. Today matters. We have to build good habits. And those are the things that you want to say, right?

But the Celtics have changed a lot of players over the past five or six years. It looks like the same…
